Cordless Drywall Screwgun Redesign
Due to several health concerns with the current Drywall Screwgun design, the design challenge was to redesign the product with a strong emphasis on ergonomics.
Current Corded Drywall Screwgun. The design challenge was to design a more ergonomic Cordless version. The current design creates several health hazards due to the odd grip and heavy weight of the Screwgun combined with long hours in the field.
Final sketch direction of new Screwgun design. Concept uses a more comfortable grip as well as place the battery above your hand's center of gravity.
Final physical prototype to test actual use in the field. Mocked up with foamcore and an actual Screwgun battery. Performed job site visits to receive feedback from actual users and make any adjustments necessary.
